We just had our socks blessed off. One of the most wonderful (and most difficult...) aspects of being a missionary is having needs and having others meet those needs. Yes, it's humbling. And at times stressful and uncertain. But not knowing where you will stay or what you will drive during an upcoming trip, puts you right where you should be. On our knees, expectant and dependent on a gracious God. And requesting help from the Body of Christ.
On a recent whirlwind trip to the U.S. to spend Christmas with our kids
God gave us:
- a frequent-flyer-mile plane ticket to visit my parents and sister
- a beautiful, spacious lake house
- a car to drive from someone we had never met
- a 2nd car to drive and a house to stay at from someone we had never met
We had other friends who blessed us with a yummy holiday meal, gifts for under the tree, a lit Christmas tree and decorations...the list goes on and on.
These gracious brothers and sisters in Christ gave of their blessings to bless us. On the plane flight home, we thought about all God had provided and knew it was a miracle. We arrived back in Japan with warmed hearts full of family memories. And with hearts full of thankfulness to God, who meets our needs above and beyond, through His generous people.
