We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our son's wedding. Family and friends made it possible with everything from making the cake and cupcakes to lending and setting up chairs, tables and decorations. It was a beautiful production of homemade love and planning that came together in some very sweet, unforgettable moments.

A special combination of Japanese and Bulgarian made the rehearsal dinner and wedding a blend of cultures and family; celebrating roots and looking forward to future blessings. God's goodness permiated each event and He graciously stepped in with some "God thing"s to help when needed.

After our whirlwind trip to the U.S. friends asked if it was hard to return to Japan. And I had to honestly say "no" with a smile. My heart was full of blessings, there was no room for more. Being with our kids and family during these milestones has been very special indeed. And it couldn't have been more special if we lived next door and saw them everyday.

We have been soaking up God's word lately through great sermon messages. And one that struck my heart was this one reminding me that even though I treasure time spent with my kids (and grandkid), my desire to serve Jesus and be where He has placed me to be has to, and always will, take first place in my heart.
