As you can see I am still in Celebrating-the-4th mode. And, why not? We had such a good time with our American friends playing Economy (a crazy card game that you can play with tons of people). What fun it was crowded around our American-sized table with a tummy satisfied with American fare. I made these little chocolate-cream pies with our treasured brought-in-our-suitcase Jello Chocolate Pudding mix. Topped with whip and chocolate sprinkles they added to the festivities.

I made this super easy mega-throw pillow out of an old torn flag that I had shoved in my suitcase at the last minute. I trimmed off the ripped end, then folded and sewed up the top and one end (so it was like a long pillow case). Then I filled it with a single down blanket (that was being stored in a plastic bag under our bed for the summer). Then, I just whip-stitched (velcro would have worked great, but I didn't have any) the end (left side of the picture) so the white edge could still be seen. When I am ready to put it away, I'll just take out the blanket and fold down the pillow flat for easy storage. It definitely added a fire-cracker-bang to the red, white and blue ambience!
