We were at our Field Conference last week; a real highlight of our life as missionaries. Even though I am a born-extravert I confess I get a little "peopled out" at big conferences, especially one with 120 co-workers and 50 kids! What a blessing to be a part of the largest mission in Japan. All people we feel we wanted to connect with and get to know better.
So a highlight for me was a few quiet minutes each day on the hotel's roof soaking in the potent Japanese hot-spring bath. Just the sky, stars and mountain tips, steam rising around me as I dipped my bare toes plus in the almost too hot mineral water.
A highlight was feasting on God's Word each morning, challenging meaty Bible messages to encourage and convict. Letting God's instruction seep deep into my mind and heart. Fortifying me for future battles.
What a highlight to spend time with dear OMF brothers and sisters, whose hearts beat to share the Gospel in Japan; committed to the long-haul; a life-time of faithfully proclaiming Jesus here in this hard, unresponsive land.
