another Thrift Shop

So sorry dear readers to be amiss in my weekly blog posts.  I am officially claiming to be back "on top of things" with some as-semblance of order in the midst my topsy-turvy world. After a little unplanned hiatus, I am back to faithfully blogging.  Please don't stop stopping by.  I will miss you way too much!!

2 weeks ago found me helping to oversee Thrift Shop at our boy's school.  A very, fun but crazy place.  It is the most organized chaos I have every seen. Just incredible.
The school gym went from this

 to this

and then to

this crazy, packed-out scene the last day when we welcomed in the nearby Japanese community.  It was fun to be a small part of sharing smiles, greetings, foreigner's cast offs and gospel tracts to the many school's neighbors that lined up for hours before we opened the doors Saturday morning.
Since we have lived in this house over 3 years (the longest we have lived anywhere in our 21 years of married life) it was time to do some spring cleaning.  After several months of going through cupboards and drawers we had a van load of donations for Thrift Shop.  Granted, I brought my share of treasured-finds back in to this house.  (Sigh heard in the background from my sweet husband who loves clutter-free).  Some of my scores?  Boots for me and the boys, red china tea cups, name-brand purses, dresses and skirts and oh course, a stack of I-can't-wait-for-a-few-free-minute-to-put-my-feet-up-and-READ-books.
