Enjoying Fall

When we come on home assignment we always have a list (even if just in our minds) of things we would like our family to "experience" while living in the US. Some things you might find on our list are: a professional football or baseball game, white water rafting, sailing, Disney Land, a drive-in-theater, the beach, the Grand Canyon, etc. Some of the things we find time (and money) to fit in during that year home, while other things stay on our never-written list so we can dream about possibly doing it next home assignment. Last weekend we checked off one more fun, American experience....visit a pumpkin patch. You will rarely see an orange pumpkin in Japan, something I sorely miss each autum. The kids walked around the pumpkin patch and choose just their favorite big, orange gord off the vine. It was also there first time to a navigate through a corn maze. And, what fun to launch little pumpins from a canon-sized gun into the cow's field. What a fun day to add to our memories of life in America.
