Wonder what we are holding? The girls made "origami" (cute folded paper shapes of objects and animals) from our paper napkins. We have been having serveral Japanese young people over regularily since we've been in the US. An extra plus for us of course, is that it gives us (especially the kids) a chance to practice Japanese. Through these informal times of just hanging out in our home, we have earned the "right" to speak into their lives. We are so thankful for God giving Tim the chance to to work through an evangelistic Bible study with them.
Have you ever had an international college student over? You don't have to speak a foreign language to eat food and laugh.Have kids? Even better. Children are a natural topic of converstaion and they help everyone feel more relaxed. And students who might be struggling with learning English feel the most comfortable speaking with children. What could be a better way to bless your kids than by giving them a peek into the world and a heart for people from all nations...right from your living room.
International students love to be in a real "American" home and most never get the chance. By inviting them over and offering a meal, you can change a life...and not just their's. So take advantage of the many internationals studying near you. By simply opening your door, God can can open a heart.
