Well, we have landed with a BOOM and a BANG. Just like the fireworks lighting up the sky on the 4th of July. What a treat to be in America for Indepence Day. And to be with family in our home for sweet rolls and egg strata, a family favorite and tradition. And to be invited to a friend's lovely party for tri-tip, my all time favorite meat grilled by one of our favorite friends. And video chatting with all our kids together from around the globe. And to see Fireworks!!! A celebratory day indeed!
To be honest our heads are still spinning from a packed full schedule in Japan until we got on the plane to moving into our house less than 2 days upon arrival. And if you know us, we just tackle it like gang-busters. We kept telling ourselves, "We need to leave that project until later." But we want to have our home and yard nice and feel settled as soon as possible so of course we keep plowing through. So bushes were dug up, trees trimmed, sprinkles fixed.....furniture and car sought and bought. As well as unpacking our attic boxes and tossing unneeded items and replacing needed items. Add to that time spent with one of our son's who is in town for a limited amount of time. Whew!!!
😉
We were so thankful for church friends (and strangers!!!) who helped us get our stuff from storage, lent us a truck and welcomed us warmly back "home". And we are so thankful for God's evident hand going before us to quickly find good quality, comfortable and cheap 2nd hand furniture and a great car to buy. (Check out our $8 Eddie Bauer high chair that I had to disassemble and bleach. But it turned out lovely!)
