Japanese bakery's offer a wide selection of single serving bread, all packaged separately. Some of these are more savory with cheese, sausages or curry. Even MAYONNAISE!! Others are sweet breads, but usually just lightly sweetened.  One of my favorite is a croissant with chocolate inside. Yum!! But be careful, you may accidentally get one with sweet red bean paste. Another favorite is walnut rolls and cranberry bread. These are regular chewy yeast breads with nuts or berries inside like the one pictured here for under $1. Any of these make a nice addition to lunch or a late afternoon snack with a cup of tea.
