Valentine's Day in Japan is where woman give men chocolate. Sometimes these can be out of obligation to work colleagues. But it can also be to tell someone you are sweet on them.
It can also just be to friends. Of course it is just a marketing ploy to make people spend money. And these aren't cheap. But it does add a bit of fun. Our kids used to get handfuls of little chocolate snacks or cookies from girl friends at school. And Tim has gotten his share of tasty chocolate candies from church friends.
Here are a few pictures of the chocolates that I saw for sale recently. They are too cute. But as you know, Japan is the land of cuteness. It doesn't necessarily have to taste good, it just has to look good, packaging included. And adorable it truly is.
