I don't know about you, but I think as Christians we can always use a good dose of humility. Before you know it, we have started to feel capable, like we are doing alright. got it all under control; thinking we are doing pretty well. I am so glad that when that happens, we are rescued from our own self-assurance.  It is then that God's restoring Grace is gently, but abundantly, poured out on our growing pride and the lessons in humility begin once again.

Someone commented to us the other day, that they were rather impressed that we were in a leadership role in our mission. We knew there really wasn't anything to be impressed about. If they had seen all the e-mails missed, the people forgotten and the procedures that we were still trying to figure out...they would have more accurately thought, "Gee, I hope they make it".

We came into this new leadership role feeling overwhelmed and ill-equiped. And God has kept us humble, dependent and modest with challenging situations and our limitations.  We have daily had to come to God asking Him to make a way, to figure things out, to enable and provide. It is through this at-times-painful-humility and harrowing brokenness that we see God step in and help, empowering us to faithfully serve where and how He has called us.
