We don't take taxis very often in Japan. Compared to the rest of Asia they are an expensive way to travel here. But when you are visiting a church that is a 30+ minute walk from the train station and you have no clue where it is and you don't want to arrive late for the Sunday worship service...you splurge. And boy, was it worth it. Even with the taxi we arrived just in time. And I don't think the google map on our iPhone could have navigated us as well as our capable driver.

I wish you could see his smiling face and feel his friendly manner. He happily chatted with us the whole way there. He was surprised we could carry on a conversation in comfortable Japanese. And Tim drew him out in his typical connecting-well-to-non-Christians way. When the our driver dropped us off in the church parking lot and we warmly invited him to visit the church sometime. It was a reminder that even in our ordinary daily activities God's Hand is connecting us to Japanese people around us who need to hear about Him.
