I just have to say it, "My parents are incredible."
At 70+ they are still the world-travelers.
Enduring swollen ankles and cramped airplane seats. Fighting through jet-lag and crowded trains.
All to visit their daughter and her family overseas.
Toting backpacks and passports.
Lugging birthday presents, clothes, shoes, dried beans and Triscuits.
Coming all that way to spend some time with us,
and do some major cheering at HS basketball games.
They brought more than undershirts and baking powder.
They brought encouragement and counsel, wisdom and experience.
And we soaked up every minute of it!
So thanks mom and dad.
For blessing our family and working so hard to be a part of our world.
One of the fun things mom and I do when she comes to Japan is go to the 100 Yen store, which comparable to the $1 store in the U.S., but even better. She finds all sorts of gifts and treasures to take back in her carry-on. Envelopes, dishes, paper, bags and ribbons. This time we spent an afternoon stamping cards with all kinds of adorable washi tape we found. Really, you could look for hours at all the cute and useful stuff. Pictured below are just some of the many finds that fill my home!
