And the winner of the drawing...

...from Blog and FB comments was my friend Nora, a missionary colleague in Japan.  What fun to send her this little gift. I am sure she is busy, like we were last year, taking the many chances Christmas brings to try to share the true meaning of this season with the Japanese around us.

Today finds me enjoying my college age son HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS.  What a treat this is. And with much less stress and craziness than last year.

A fun tradition we have with the kids is putting little advent chocolates or candies in a little stocking hung on their bedroom door.  My mom did this fun custom for my sister and I when we were little girls and we have tried to carry it on.   Since our oldest was off at college this year I wrapped up little treats in paper and labeled them with stenciled-in-paint number tags.  He enjoyed these daily pick-me-ups in the midst of 15 page papers and studying for finals.  Any little thing to connect to, bless, and keep close to that kid of mine...even over the miles and through the years.
