God's Grace through Transitions

American pavement. 3/5's of our clan have landed and we have hit the road running.  Jumping into American life with a passion has included moving into our familiar house, registering for school and of course, HS football and chicks. Our heads are still spinning.

There is a lot to share once we have internet (for now we are camped out in the McDonald's parking lot).  Once some of the discombobulation around me has settled you will read more of the craziness of our lives.  For now we are still treading water, but there are testimonies of His goodness and grace to share.

A unique, but not very easy part of our missionary life is transitions.  Like these that our family has experienced the past 2 weeks, transitions can wipe us out, bring us to our knees, and even break our hearts.  Even though you may find me kicking and screaming through it all, there is no better place to be.

It is only when we are broken that we experience Him.  It is only when we are completely dependent that we see Him touch our hearts and lives.  Through those dark, scary moments, He speaks light, truth and grace in an extraordinary way that leaves us knowing He is real.  Leaves us feeling like we are nothing, but He is everything.

And these missionary kids of mine have experienced this as well.  These young men who are still trying to figure out who they are and what they believe.  Transitions bring newness, fear and uncertainties.  All of which bring us a chance to cling.  To cling to the God they've heard about.  The God who they need to have as their own.  The God who they need answers to desperate pleas.  The God whose truth is enough to get  them through the day.
