...Where is her cold, Chai tea Latte to help make it through the afternoon?
Just because the calendar says September, doesn't mean it is autumn. It is still summer weather here, just a bit more tolerable than a month ago. September in Tokyo is hot and humid with 85-90 degrees in the day and only dipping down to just below 80 at night...still with 80% + humidity! Whether day or night, our family seeks relief together in the one air-conditioned room.
I personally have a hard time with the heat; I dread it until it arrives and then can't wish it away soon enough. I am still trying to accept graciously that heat and humidity are a part of our life now. I have to pray off being grumpy and irritable daily. I have also finally come to realize that I get less done and with more effort (and more sweat). But that's ok. It's just for s season. Oh, for the hope of a cooler fall ahead.

How did I manage to stay mosquito bite free ALL summer in the US and then be covered in bites 2 days after we arrived back in Japan? Sure wish I wasn't so sweet! Let's just say I wear insect repellent 24-7! It's my summer perfume. Since it is so expensive here in Japan we bring a good supply with us from the U.S.
We found this little (well, actually not so little) critter outside our front door. I am glad that he was outside though, unlike the cockroaches that we have been finding indoors.
So that is how you find me this September....
- Sweating profusely during any housework after 6AM
- Squealing for someone to grab a big shoe since a cockroach just ran across the floor
- Trying desperately not to scratch my bug bites and
- Sipping my cold, Chai tea latte always followed around by my faithful friend who never leaves my side....ah, my dog? you say; no...my fan.
