Just because I've had 2 posts in a row about conferences and retreats, please don't think that's all we do. We do work a little too, you know. Our other conference was a month ago and this 1 day OMF Tokyo ladies get-together was just a few days ago. I loved helping to plan this simple 24 hour get-together for 13 of us living within a 1 1/2 hour commute by train from the OMF Japan headquarters where we stayed. Recognize that pretty Thai silk draped over the whiteboards for decoration?
We thought it would be fun to "pamper" these women a little. They are always so busy giving to others, this time they were the recipients. Some wonderful ladies from our home church in California sent all sorts of goodies for a goodie bag for each missionary woman. I stamped their names and a reminder of how they are each "a gift of God" on each bag. Notebooks, devotionals, bookmarks, teas, coffees, candles, Chapstick, pens, lotions, chocolates and more! Fun gifts for some very fun ladies.
Purpose of our retreat:
Encouragement and good fellowship as talked about how God has gifted us and how we can use those gifts to have ministries filled with passion, power and pleasure!
