It was fun to be a part of the setting up the decorations with some Thai silk we borrowed from our friend.
Eating Japanese food 3 x a day wasn't a highlight (we brought our own OJ to go with rice and fish for breakfast), but time reconnecting with these wonderful missionary collegues was definitely a highlight.
Another highlight was leading worship with 2 of our kids.
Those times when we are serving side by side are unforgettable.
Another highlight? The onsen!!!
Stepping into a Japanese public bath
takes some getting used to...
Drop your clothes off in the changing room baskets/cubby holes...Don't worry men and woman have separate changing areas and baths...
wash off seated at these showers...after you are all squeaky clean then you can...
soak in the natural hot spring water in your birthday suit...just a warning, the water is HOT, but oh so refreshing and relaxing. A special treat is if you go off hours and find the place all to yourself. Ahhhhh.
