We made it...we are on Japan soil (or black top in our case here in Tokyo)

The last few days before we left were crazy with so many last minute errands making us very tired. God blessed us wtih extra energy and health though, as well as friends to help us get out the door.

We were so blessed by our church's "send off" on Sunday. What love and care we felt from this body of believers. We realized that the deep sadness we felt while saying "good bye" meant God had blessed; we had connected well, one of our main goals this home assignment. Again, another huge blessing from God.
Friends (and Tim's mom) seeing us off at the airport! Just another extra blessing!

Our 12 pieces of checked luggage-bins made it safely (Even though the security people couldn't get them closed after checking them...no problem, they just duct taped them together)! We didn't even have to pay the extra baggage fee (never figured out why, guess we'll just have to say it was another of God's blessings). You can imagine we were quite a sight toting all these bins, plus backpacks and carry-ons through the Narita airport. We felt like this pictures looks...blurry and dazed.

God blessed us with good flights, although 2 of our 3 kids were sick. I was a little nervous as we were standing in the immigration line (with big signs posted all arouond about not coming into the country sick) and one of our kids was making good use of the extra air sick bags we had grabbed on our way off the plane. Yikes, glad they didn't quarantine him!
