Packing and Moving

The last 2 weeks have been crazy. It always surprises me how busy, time consuming and exhausting moving across the ocean for 3-5 years can be. My "to do" list is never ending it seems...but I do see the end in sight, much better than a few days ago.
It makes it a little harder because Tim and one of our sons are in Mexico building houses with our church's young people this week (I know, I know...that is crazier than ever! Please do pray for safety, good night sleeps and health for them!! We leave for Japan just a few days after their return).

We were so thankful for friends that have made this move possible! A friend to capably manage our house...what an answer to prayer and what a huge, huge blessing! Friends to help us move our furniture and pack our dishes...other friends to store that furniture in their barn for our next term...A dear friend to stay with this last week...other friends who have lent us a van for these past 8 months, how great to drive it till our last day here.

The boys and I are finishing things up at our house. They have been great helpers cleaning and doing last minute house projects. I love seeing those empty closets and cupboards. To add to the craziness, we had to madly clean up the chaos several times last week to show our house to possible renters. Please pray that we would have discernment and that good renters would sign the contract before we leave.
We just finished packing our bins, suitcases, backpacks and carry-ons to take with us on the plane. This was the most overwhelming job in my opinion. It's hard to know what to bring and what to leave behind as we weigh (literally!!) everything carefully. It reminds me of how tied to "stuff" I really am. Oh, to have my treasures only in heaven - where they don't need to be packed, weighed and carted back and forth across the ocean.

I am so thankful though for God's daily help and grace that has gotten us this far. He continues to provide for us in so many wonderful ways as He makes this path back to Japan straight before us. Thank you for your prayers that sustain us!!
