..From our House to Yours! We are enjoying another Christmas in our
own home, a extra blessing that we thought as missionaries we'd never experience. When we came on home assignmnet 1 1/2 years ago God provided some money that Tim's dad left us to put towards buying a house here in California. It's been fun (but a bit time and money consuming) to work on it little by little. It has helped us feel like we "own" our new hometown more and I think it has helped our family feel like our roots here are a little deeper. We are hoping it will also be an investment too. (We joke that at least we'll have a place to live when we retire. )
We have been praying daily (and please pray with us!) for good renters at just the right time when we return to Japan. We also have been praying for someone to manage our house for us to save us the extra expense of having to hire a company to do it.
Tim and I were just talking the other day though, how this house is
God's.
He gave it to us and for some reason if
He takes it away from us (ie. can't find renters, the big oak tree falls on our neighbor's house and consumes our small house savings account, who knows...) we
need to, but even more importantly
want to be "ok" with it. We choose now to hold this house in an open hand before the Lord, it is
His.
What a reminder to us again that God is preparing an even better, and more permanent house for us...not in America or Japan, but in heaven. No need to worry about leaves clogging up the gutters or backed up kitchen sinks, because
that house will be perfect...All (and even more!!) than we've always wanted.
