Oh be carefull little eyes what you see

One of the hard things about raising our boys in Japan is the pornagraphy. We've heard this is the case in other Asian and European countires as well. Pornagraphy comes in many ways in Japan, but the hardest to flee from are the comics and magazines found at any bookstore or even at the neighborhood 7-11. Sadly there is always a row of guys, of all ages, standing there with one of these "soft-porn" magazines in hand.Often the pictures on the magazine's cover are pretty revealing and inappropriate. Once, when we stopped at a convenient store for a boxed lunch and a cold drink while traveling, I was shocked to see these magazine covers pressed against the outside window; just walking past the store we all got more than an eye-full.

On many other occasions we have found these magazines (or the ripped out pages) at the park or on the street. Even a game that the 5th grade Japanese boys at school were playing had barely clothed ladies drawn on each card. I also remember when we lived in a big apartment building we would get close-to-nude picture advertisements in our mailbox slot all the time.

We've had to address this issue on many occasions with our kids and we continue to pray for God's protection for our sons...not just for their eyes, but for their minds and hearts as well. We pray God would keep them pure. We also pray for God's deliverance in the lives of so many Japanese men who are blindly looking for fullfillment, but instead find themselves in an empty prison.
