I have to admit it. I don't like sushi. I know, I know...after 11 years of living in Japan I should have at least
learned to like it. But, nope. Sorry, no luck here.
Tim loves it though and right before we left Japan last summer we visited our dear friend's sushi shop. It is a tiny little place with just a few seats; but Tim declares, "Some of the best sushi ever".

The family who owns the restaurant are Christians and part of the reason they opened their own shop was so that the husband wouldn't have to work on Sundays. They also make boxed lunches to sell at the hospital near by, as well as sushi platters for parties. Most mornings he wakes up early to go down to the open fish market to buy the freshest fish. The name of his shop is "Grace Sushi". His wife and mom work there as well to keep this little family restraunt going.

Tim had eaten there several times, but right before we left last summer we stopped for a lunch date together; my first time ever. Our friend was so nice and offered (chuckling, mind you) to cook mine since he knew sushi wasn't my favorite Japanese food. And I will have to agree with Tim; It tasted great!
