You might not think of shopping as requiring many hours of a missionary mom on home assignment. But, you'd be surprised.Since we are all tall; we usually can't buy clothes and shoes in Japan. So, when we are in the States, we are often checking clothes sales to restock our dwindled wardrobe and fill many suitcases with clothes and shoes to take back to Japan. We also get things for the boys that are cheaper and better quality here in the U.S. like: jeans, tennis shoes and jackets. I have to admit that having 3 boys helps when guessing future sizes....it's bound to fit someone, sometime.
As you can image, buying the next 4 years worth of clothes isn't easy on your feet...or your wallet. We usually keep to the clearance racks and as the seasons change we can find inexpensive clothes. We already have almost 2 bins of shoes and summery clothes ready to go!
Even though it's a job that overwhelms me at times; ultimately we know that God promises to meet all our needs. And just like He beautifully clothes the lilies of the fields, He will provide for our family.
