How many workers at the mission home office does it take to get and keep a missionary on the field? Answer: lots.
We were so blessed to be able to visit and reconnect with the U.S. home office of our mission organization recently.

It had been 4 years since visiting the talented and dedicated staff who do so many things behind the scenes to make missions possible.
They print, copy, stuff and mail our monthly prayer letters. They also do our taxes while we are overseas and help us get situated with health insurance when we are back home. They also provide super resources and books for us to use while we travel and share what God is doing in Asia. They help us figure out how much it costs for us to live in the U.S. the year we are on Home Assignment and track all our financial gifts and givers. They also help us plan for retirement and make sure our family is healthy so we can return to the field soon.
We came away from this Home Assignment Training with a renewed vision of how God is drawing people to Himself, not just in Japan, but throughout Asia. We also walked away with a renewed excitement about missions in general, but also a strong confirmation of God's specific call on our lives for Japan. What a privilege to partner with such a great organization.
