To clean or not to clean....that is the question

Coming back from home assignment and stepping into a house already set up is a real blessing, a first in the 19+ years of missionary life in Japan. And living in the same house for 3 1/2 years is a record for this family!!! We are thankful that it already feels like HOME.

We've had some big time cleaning and organising to do which has taken the small reserve of transcontinental-move-energy that we had left.  We needed to do some of those big cleaning, tossing and organising jobs that we usually only do when we move.  I knew this was our window of opportunity, especially before the heat got too oppressive, so we tackled closets and corners, under beds and inside cupboards. I love my house to be clean and organised, but find the task daunting and overwhelming, so it is usually put off to another day.  But not today.  Our now-or-never plan has almost gotten the job done. And, we almost know where everything is.   Striving with the rest of you to make daily life more live-able and daily ministry more do-able.

I snapped some shots of a Japanese neighbor lady who was busy sweeping the street in front of her house. Clean for others, but not so clean for her as she can barely make her way to her front door.
