On the Road again...or in our case....

In the air again

...and again...and again.

We are just feeling settled and  situated, getting into a routine with daily life becoming more and more familiar. I've loved the time to do yard work and clean up and paint our house.  It's been so good to begin to reconnect with our supporting home church and step into a few ministry opportunities and best of all, to see the boys begin to adjust well to school.

It took me several paint samples to find a perfect creamy soft yellow to brighten our big-tree-shaded and sometimes-rather-dark kitchen-living-dining room.  "Olympic Belgium Waffle" looks more like the waffle batter than a cooked waffle, but I love it!  We are so thankful to the Lord for what a blessing it is to be in our house and able to work on our house.  God is good.

But today finds me shopping, packing and making "to do before I go" lists. (Sigh.  This world traveler really is a home-body at heart!!) You might remember I've written about how we hunt seasonal clearance sales to outfit us and how we fill out suitcases to the last spare ounce and spare inch.  This time my suitcase is filled with things we need like: medicine, bug spray, contact solution, clothes, cotton balls, vitamins and things we want like: pudding mix, ranch dip mix, big fluffy bath towels, animal crackers and fall candy.

I am so looking forward to seeing my hubby face to face but I am not looking forward to facing the long layovers, jet-lag and 3 1/2 weeks of a busy work and ministry schedule that awaits me.

Sitting on the airplane going either way we pull out our 2 worlds;  a plastic zip pouch for each country.  Store cards, drivers license, cash and coin currency, bank debit cards, house and car keys, train pass, etc.  In flight I switch my wallet to land prepared to walk off the plane and into my other life. I have to admit though, it's not quite as easy to transition my mind and body as it is my purse.
