If we were waking up in California this morning, we'd have flags flying and barbecues smoking, a day off for fun and friends. American Holidays like this can come and go, rather forgotten in our all consuming world here.

A Skype call with caring friends, another Skype visit with my mom and then Tim's brother and yet another Skype chat with our sleepy, sweet son near his midnight, our middle of the day. Yes, A world a part, but a world so close. Straddling our two worlds in this ordinary-to-us, but really rather odd life of ours.
