We stopped by on our way home from church the other day for a traditional Japanese snack. These fish shaped pancakes are filled with sweet bean paste, custard cream or chocolate. Of course our favorite is chocolate. For $1.75 each, the sweet warm pudding filled treat tastes especially good on a cold winter day. Since our 19 year old is returning to college tomorrow we've been trying to sneak in all the fun and memorable Japanese food and snacks we can; always a good excuse for playing the tourist card and taking the extra time and money to enjoy life here on this Asian island.
