Christmas Week

We enjoyed a nice, quiet school break for the boys. Mostly we have sat at home, cooked, rested, read, played games and watched sports. Since we had such a busy Christmas Day at church, we had our Christmas Eve Dec. 26 and our Christmas Day Dec. 27. It worked well for our family and it felt like we had a full week, instead of just a day, of Christmas Celebrations.
One of our strange Christmas traditions is having breakfast at McDonald's on Christmas Eve morning. The first time we did this was our 3rd Christmas in Japan. We were feeling lonely and a little homesick that year so we ventured out to McDonald's which was a treat for us with its play-land and English Christmas music playing in the background.
Now, we don't go for the play-land as much as the yummy Sausage McMuffins and the nostalgia of it all. Aren't quirky family traditions fun?
