It is not surprising to see farmers in our neighborhood not just harvesting in the fall, but planting. Since we have such a mild autumn here in Tokyo, Japanese turnips, carrots and cabbage can now be found nestled in the dark, rich soil; growing little by little.
Oh, how we long for a harvest here in Japan. Not of food, but of hearts. Through the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant crisis we have seen an increased openness; through trouble and heartache God is tilling the soil. We will keep scattering, faithfully planting seeds while we wait with faith-filled hearts for the coming harvest.
