let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....as long as I don't have to shovel

Today it snowed. But to the kid's dismay, it didn't stick. What surprises me, but doesn't seem out of the norm, is to have snow falling and freezing nights along with plum blossoms.
Even though we are still getting use to our house feeling cold, we have enjoyed the "mildness" of our first Tokyo winter. It sure is different than the 20 or so feet of snow each winter in Sapporo City, where we lived for 11 years. No other large city in the world gets that much snow.
Needless to say we don't miss the hours of snow shoveling...at our house and then at the church..
...or carting the snow off to the park since there was no place for it in our little driveway and yard...
...or the noisy snow plows at 5 am or the dump trucks hauling snow to the edge of the city...
...or driving on 6 inches of packed snow and ice all winter...
...or driving on roads narrowed by banks of snow 6 feet high.

I think I prefer snow flurries and plum blossoms.
