beauty all around me

With a heart to look on the positive, I want to make sure I share with you not just the difficulties and stresses of living as a missionary here, but the beauty as well.

So, look for more posts to come as I celebrate God's blessings of beauty all around me. (Unfortunately I lost all my cherry blossom pictures when my camera fell down the stairs at the train station, so I'll have to wait until next spring to give you a snapshot of those.)
Each morning I get to wake up to green, right outside my bedroom windows. I love all the dogwoods that are in bloom now. Our table sits by this pretty window with our neighbor's big evergreen trees that give us privacy from their driveway and front door. We don't even need curtains. The sun comes in here to cheer me as a sip my tea each morning. We definetly enjoy our neighbor's small, but beautifully kept gardens. Here is what we see to the left of our house as we park our bikes and walk up to our front door. Our neighbor said she loves flowers that lift her spirits when in bloom each spring. Me too. As you saw from our house pictures before, we have a sunroom that opens to an empty lot behind us. Up until now this room has been the catch-all for our bins and boxes, but we look forward to making this room homey to use about half of the year (when it's not too hot or too cold). We are waiting for an extra table and rattan chairs to put in here that we are buying from another missionary family that is leaving the field in about a month).

All this green around us is definetly a blessing to this missionary family who was leary to move to the biggest city in the world. True, our neighbors are just a few feet away on all sides but we still enjoy many views of green. Isn't God good with these extra blessings He gives? They remind me that He cares about these little details and desires in our lives.
