It has been so neat to see our oldest son excited about his future and starting to think, plan and dream about how God might use him. He came away even more excited about what college and career experiences may lay ahead. Isn't God good? What a blessing.
I, on the other hand, got a little choked up thinking about our son being here in the US at college and us, far away in Japan. That distance across the ocean seems even further now. Memories of having him board for 3 years in middle school tug at my heart. (See post HERE.) Oh, how we missed him and grieved over and over those losses of not being a "normal" part of his life during those years. It was so hard to let him go then, and again it will be so hard to let him go when a few years off becomes now. But, how precious to remember that God never lets him go. His hands are more capable and loving than mine ever were or will be. He will undertake, protect, enable and guide this young man, my son, along the way.
