paths of peace and perserverance

Sometimes do you feel like you are just trudging along?

I do. Not thriving, just surviving. It's all I can do to keep up with the demands of the day. I am playing catch up along with juggling too many hats. My mind is full of details from all our different worlds. Trying to remember dates and places, names and faces.

I will keep plodding along. Desiring to be faithful and obedient. Diligently facing the nitty-gritty of today. There is so much I could and should do, but today I will just get done what needs to get done.

I stop to soak up a quiet, still moment with my unseen but not silent Creator. I leave my undone "to do" list and my muddled thoughts and feelings at His feet. I am reminded of my big, faithful God who holds each little detail of my life and heart. I look down at the open Bible in my lap and remember forgotten promises of grace and strength. Grace for mistakes and inadequacies. Grace for inflicted hurts or misunderstandings. Grace for ailments and infirmities. Strength for jobs too big for me. Strength for me to patiently endure and grow through the mundane as well as the miraculous.

So I trudge along the path God has given me today. But with renewed hope and expectancy. With rest and refreshment sensed now and claimed for tomorrow.  With prayers for not just right steps but a right heart.
