I think one of the best things about being missionaries is receiving. We are always receiving from others.Every month we receive faithful financial gifts that allow us to be on the field. Some of these dear friends have been supporting us for the whole 14+ years we have been missionaries and they haven't missed a month. We are incredibly humbled by those who give generously so God can provide for us through them!
There are a lot of other times we have been the recipients lately....Like when we received an anonymous gift card to a hamburger place in the mail with a thoughtful note....Or when we had our restaurant dinner check paid for by someone that we didn't even know...Or when a friend showed up at our house the other day with snacks and food from Costco...Or when another friend took our family of 5 to the store and bought us all shoes.
I know the saying is "It is better to give than to receive"; but we are sure blessed to have been on the receiving end so many times. We feel just like Paul in Phil. 4:18, "...now that I have received...the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice to God."
